Membership News: April 16, 2024

April is Fair Housing Month

This Fair Housing Month, Metro South Association of REALTORS® has been proud to partner with Metro South Atlanta Realtists for Realtist Week 2024! Together, our members hosted a REALTOR® / Realtist Mixer at Arts Clayton to get to know one another and share our common goals. Afterward, we celebrated the 56th anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act and discussed the progress we've made toward Democracy in Housing and the long road ahead. The Realtists and REALTORS® ended the week with a Community Day in Forest Park, where members of the public participated in financial education courses, received COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, enjoyed lunch & refreshments, and met with various vendors to provide assistance to anyone in need, all free of charge. Our REALTOR® Organization is extremely grateful to work so closely with Realtist President Cynthia Crawford and share our efforts to make homeownership a reality for more of our citizens here in the South Metro Atlanta Area.

Over the next 2 weeks, we encourage you to do your part in making fair housing a reality in our community. Here are some ways you can advance Fair Housing Initiatives as a REALTOR®:

Most importantly, we believe that it's important to recognize that Fair and Equitable Housing is not a reality for all members of our country and our community. It is up to us, the daily practitioners, to adhere to our Code of Ethics and go above and beyond to provide equitable opportunities for all, regardless of our differences. After all, our differences are the one true thing we all have in common.

Happy Birthday To MSAR's Own Carole Savell!

Please join us in celebrating our Membership Director, Carole Savell, on her birthday, April 16, 2024! We are so thankful to have her. Be sure to Drop by the office and wish her a happy birthday, and show her how much we appreciate her!
