MSAR Raised the Bar!

53 MSAR members and guests gathered on Thursday Night to recognize RPAC Major Investors and encourage members to step up their investments.

Featuring a keynote address from the Georgia REALTORS® Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Maura Neill, attendees learned that the REALTORS® Political Action Committee is more than a blue or red political initiative. RPAC protects every facet of the real estate industry and empowers practitioners at every level, regardless of whether they pay dues. Without members generours RPAC investments, the real estate industry would be unrecognizable.

Big wins were made Thursday Night: MSAR saw 5 brand new Major Investors at the $1000+ level, and many others who stepped up from their own investment levels. Take a look at the graphics below to see where everyone stands now! When you see one of these investors, please thank them for funding our advocacy efforts.

Don't see your name? That means that we haven't received your investment for 2026 yet! There is still time to help MSAR make our goal of being 100% invested in RPAC. Click the link below to learn more about making your investment. Feel free to contact david@msarboard.com or 770-477-7579 for more questions.

Contributions to RPAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. GARPAC contributions are voluntary and are used for political purposes. The Georgia Association of REALTORS® and its local associations will not favor or disadvantage any member because of the amount contributed, and you may refuse to contribute without reprisal. 70% of each contribution is split between Georgia RPAC to support state and local political candidates and Georgia RIAC for issues mobilization and education. 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 52 U.S.C. 30116.

This Week's Featured Member Benefit

Local, State, & National Advocacy

While we are talking about RPAC, which is the fundraising arm of the important advocacy work REALTORS® do at all levels of government, now is a good time to learn more about what those RPAC dollars actually do. Whether or not they pay REALTOR® dues or invest, professionals and consumers benefit from REALTOR® advocacy efforts. See some of our most recent legislative wins below.

September is REALTOR Safety Month

See a Featured Safety Product Below

As a REALTOR, it is important that you have a personal safety protocol in place that you use every day with every client and prospective client. You should use at least one, or multiple tools in every interaction, like when meeting new clients, showing properties, or even sharing information online. Whatever system you use, it is important to use it consistently with everyone.

There are a variety of tools you can add to your personal safety protocol, such as apps, safety products, and even simple, non-tech solutions, like getting a copy of every prospective client's ID.

This week's featured tool is: Having a Proactive Intake System

In addition to checking client information in Forewarn, it is strongly recommended to have an additional intake process that compliments Forewarn. Here's a quick example:

After you've checked the prospective client's information in Forewarn or other REALTOR® Safety Tool, schedule an introductory meeting in-person at a public place or on Zoom. During that meeting, collect a copy of the client/customer's government-issued ID and discuss your professional availability, rules, and guidelines. These may include only showing properties during your availability, when you can take calls, how future in-person appointments will go, etc. Your client will appreciate you putting both parties' safety first and setting clear professional boundaries. If the prospective client is unwilling to provide identification or meet within your professional boundaries, that should be a red flag for you to consider disengaging. No amount of compensation is worth your safety! Whatever process you use, please ensure that you use it every single time and with every single prospective client.
